Privacy Policy

Last updated 21 September 2026

This policy explains what Busify collects when you visit this site or run a booking site on the platform, why we collect it, and what happens to it. There are two audiences here: operators, who have accounts with us, and passengers, whose data an operator collects through their booking site.

1.What we collect from operators

  • Signup details — company name, owner name, email, phone, the subdomain you chose, the plan you picked and, if you gave one, a billing address.
  • Account and staff data — the staff accounts you create, their roles and permissions, and sign-in activity.
  • Billing records — invoices, payment attempts and their references. Card and mobile-money details are handled by the payment provider; we do not store them.
  • Operator data — everything you put in the platform: stops, routes, schedules, seat layouts, vehicles, fares, bookings, passengers, agents, images and files, and settings.
  • Technical data — server logs (IP address, browser, pages requested, timestamps) and error reports, used to keep the platform running.

2.Why we collect it

  • To create, run and secure your booking site and account.
  • To review signups, bill you, and tell you about invoices and payments.
  • To send transactional messages — approval, provisioning, invoices, security notices, changes to the service. We do not sell your details or send you third-party marketing.
  • To diagnose problems and improve the platform.
  • To meet legal and accounting obligations.

3.Passengers' data on an operator's booking site

When someone books a ticket on an operator’s booking site, at a counter or through an agent, the operator collects their name, contact details, travel details and, where a route requires it, identity documents, plus their booking history and, if they open an account, their login and saved travellers. That data belongs to the operator, who is its controller and decides how it is used. We process it on the operator’s behalf, only to run their booking service.

If you are a passenger with a question about your data, contact the operator you booked with. Their contact details are on their booking site and your ticket.

4.Cookies

This site and the operator portal use cookies only to keep you signed in and to remember preferences such as light or dark mode and sidebar state. Booking sites set a session cookie to hold a passenger’s seats during checkout and, if a passenger signs in, for their account. An operator may add their own analytics tags to their booking site; those are the operator’s, under their own policy.

5.Where data lives and how long we keep it

Every operator has its own database, separate from every other operator’s. Uploaded files are stored on the platform’s object storage. We keep your data for as long as your account exists. After an operator is terminated we keep its data for a retention period, during which you can request an export, and then delete it. Backups and logs roll off on their own schedule.

6.Who we share it with

Only the providers needed to run the service: hosting and storage, the payment gateways you or we use for billing, SMS, WhatsApp and email delivery, and other integrations you connect. Each receives only what it needs to do its job. We will disclose data if the law requires it, and will tell you where we are allowed to.

7.Your rights

You can see and change most of your account details in the operator portal. You can ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, or to delete it, at support@busify.site. Deleting your data means closing your account.

8.Security

Connections to busify.site and every booking site are encrypted. Passwords are hashed; gateway and SMS credentials you enter are stored encrypted. Staff access is limited by the permissions you grant. No system is perfectly secure, so if you believe your account has been compromised, change your password and tell us straight away.

9.Changes and contact

We may update this policy; the date at the top says when. Material changes are announced in the operator portal or by email. Questions go to support@busify.site or the contact page.
